Predict The Scores

DAY 4 - SUNDAY JUNE 14th

MANAGER OF THE DAY
Roisin Guargena, Chris Bounds and Stephen Wraige share Sunday's Manager of the Day trophy with 12 points each, all hitting one correct score, one correct margin and two other correct results. David Metzger's Alf's Army threw it way by predicting a Tunisia win in the last match. Army would have scored 13 had David plumped for Sweden, but finish with 9. Roisin finishes the day top of the Overall League, Chris is up 31 places to 4th, while Stephen climbs 48 to 11th. Biggest climber of the day is David Elliston, up 49 spots to 33rd with 11 points on Sunday.

SWEDEN 5 TUNISIA 1
Rumours abound that Tom Williams has a hit-man out on Yasin Ayari after the Sweden midfielder hit the fifth goal for his nation in the 96th minute. Tom was the only one expecting more than four goals in this match and had predicted 4-1. Ayari's strike turned 8 points into 2 for Tom, who is in 105th in our Overall League... and would now be 50th. 96 teams take the 2 points for the Sweden win, 23 score zero while 14 take a -2.

IVORY COAST 1 ECUADOR 0
Another late, late goal to extinguish the fires of the nine that predicted 0-0 and ignite the dreams of the three that predicted 1-0. Just three, so one bonus point makes it a 6-pointer for Anne Noble, David Elliston and Ross Montague - who only joined us today. Roisin Guargena went for 2-1, takes 3 points and goes 3 points clear at the top of the Overall League.

NETHERLANDS 2 JAPAN 2
88 minutes in, Ryan Keenan was set to jump from 7th before the match started to top spot. Then Japan equalised, Ryan's now 15th, while 2 points for John Guargena for predicting 1-1 is enough to keep John top, albeit level now with Roisin Guargena. Roisin was the highest placed of 15 to predict the 2-2. Just behind, three other managers that got the correct score all jump to equal 3rd in Mike Collyer, Callum Cooper and Mike Fischer. New names challenging at the top with Steven Jewell, Michael Rajkumar and Nick Mullen slipping up. 8 points is the best for the day so far with David Metzger following up his 3-pointer in the Germany win with the correct score this time.

GERMANY 7 CURACAO 1
We had a whole host of different score predictions for a Germy win, including a 7-0, but no-one had 7-1. Very few of us expected Curacao to score. The winners are the five that predicted 6-0, gaining 3 points for the correct margin while very nearly everyone else scores 2. Not a good game to have a random prediction. Michael Rajkumar stays 3rd but is a point closer to top spot, 1 behind John Guargena and now level on points with Steven Jewell. Got to feel for Toby Fournier, who it is that went for 7-0.
